Me Fuimaono-Poe, Pacific College Faculty, Featured on CBD for Sleep

August 16, 2021

INSIDER recently featured Pacific College medical cannabis faculty member Me Fuimaono-Poe on how best to use CBD to enhance your sleep. It’s not as straightforward as you might think; some research has found that smaller doses of CBD may stimulate instead of sedating, making sleep more difficult or of lower quality. Fuimaono-Poe suggests starting with 25 milligrams of CBD and increasing as needed, one to two hours before bed. CBD oil is the preferred delivery method, but it does take effect more slowly than smoking.

Fuimaono-Poe is also medical director for the Malie Cannabis Clinic, where she oversees the daily clinic flow, assesses and certifies patients for medical cannabis use, and creates individualized dosing plans based on goals and symptom management. She has been involved in lobbying at the legislature, petitioned the State of Hawaii, and has presented to the Hawaii Senate, House, and Attorney General about cannabis and opiate use disorders.
