SUNY Sullivan students can earn BS in Nursing with an emphasis in Holistic Nursing at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM)-New York
New York, NY – Pacific College of Oriental Medicine’s Campus Director, Malcolm Youngren and SUNY Sullivan Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robert Schultz announce the establishment of an articulation agreement, which will allow SUNY Sullivan nursing graduates to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at PCOM.
SUNY Sullivan has agreed to partner with PCOM to expand, enhance and improve the educational opportunities for its nursing graduates. This articulation also will provide the philosophical, professional, educational and clinical groundwork necessary for nurses of the future.
“The PCOM Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with an emphasis in Holistic Nursing is a unique BS Completion program focusing on the strengths, experience and educational background of incoming students and the development of a holistic approach to professional nursing practice,” says Dr. Carla Mariano, PCOM’s Nursing Program Director. The curriculum emphasizes health, wellness and disease prevention; relationship-centered approach; research and evidence informed practice; ethics; advocacy; and leadership in the profession.
The PCOM BS program in holistic nursing requires the completion of 120 credits, including the major, core, general education, and support course requirements. PCOM will accept all nursing credits from SUNY Sullivan’s Associate in Applied Science Nursing degree and additional core, general education, and support course credits according to the transfer equivalency guide to the maximum allowed (up to 90 credits). With this new articulation, students can seamlessly complete their bachelor’s degree in as little as four semesters full-time or seven to nine semesters part-time.
