Course Description:
The clinical counseling program at Pacific is based on the understanding that Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes the unity of the body, mind and spirit. Pacific believes that the journey of healing is one shared by patient and practitioner. Recent studies indicate that a positive, caring patient/practitioner relationship encourages healing. To be effective in this relationship requires that a student first understands oneself. That is a primary goal of Clinical Counseling 1. The course provides students with a variety of tools for self-evaluation and effective communication. It increases the studentโs understanding of the philosophy of Oriental medicine and its application to communication and self-growth. The course is experiential. It engenders the studentโs sense of healing community and provides a supportive environment for self-discovery.
Jobย Summary: Faculty for Clinical Counseling 1. The faculty member should be qualified to teach classes at the doctoral level. This class may be held fully online, or fully on ground in San Diego, and will run from January 5, 2026, through April 10, 2026, for the Winter 2026 term.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in mental health and/or acupuncture/East Asian medicine
- Doctorate preferred
- California licensure/NCCAOM certification or mental health clinical licensure
- Must be licensed for at least 4 years
- Live classroom-based teaching experience at an institution of higher education
Desired Qualifications:
- Teaching experience at the graduate level
- An extensive teaching resume coupled with a student-centered teaching philosophy
- Familiarity with instructional technology
- Familiarity with APA writing style
Estimated Pay Range: $30.00 โ $51.00 per hour.
