Pacific College Job Announcement – Clinic Shift Supervisor – Chicago Campus

Pacific College is hiring for the part-time position of Clinic Shift Supervisor at our Chicago Campus. The current available shifts are Wednesdays, 8:30am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-4:30pm.

Position Overview:
The Clinic Shift Supervisor oversees students at varying levels of their Masters or Doctoral program as they treat patients within a clinical environment. The Supervisor educates students on Asian Medicine theory and practice and supports the treatment of patients within the scope of a Licensed Acupuncturist. The Clinic Supervisor also monitors and makes corrections to student clinic attendance, charting, diagnosis and treatments and assists in the progress of students in an academic setting and helps establish the clinical skills necessary for Acupuncture.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student attendance, clinic responsibilities, and grades.
  • Communicate and approve treatment strategies with students and patients.
  • Communicate with the clinic office staff throughout the shift.
  • Lead lectures and discussions of case studies for the sake of student academic progress and understanding of Chinese medicine theory.
  • Instruct and monitor students on clinical skills, including bedside manners, time management, EMR charting, patient communications and best practices for a Licensed Acupuncturist.
  • Maintain a professional, safe, welcoming academic and clinical environment for students and patients.
  • Always Ensure HIPAA and FERPA compliance.
  • Monitor supervisor email and Pacific College communications on a regular basis.
  • Attend supervisor meetings, occurring once per school term, 3 times per calendar year.
  • Complete necessary requirements to maintain acupuncture license and malpractice insurance, as well as required training provided by Pacific College

Miscellaneous:

  • Represent Pacific College positively, both during and after work hours.
  • Represent the field of Acupuncture positively and professionally both during and after work hours.
  • Understand and implement professional boundaries reflective of an academic and clinical setting.
  • Maintain and models awareness of “Team” in working with all customers: students, faculty, patients, and staff.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services with special projects as needed.
  • Foster the definition of customer as “anyone to whom we provide a service, which includes students, patients, faculty, staff etc. at Pacific College.
  • Model and provide training in “exceeding customer expectations” via customer service skills with students, staff, and faculty supervisors.
  • Sets an example of professionalism, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the scope and theory of a Licensed Acupuncturist.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience practicing as a Licensed Acupuncturist.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a leading or teaching role.
  • Valid IL Acupuncture License.
  • NCCAOM Certification.
  • Completion of Herbal Board.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and FERPA requirements
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to resolve conflicts in a compassionate and courteous manner.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and stay organized.
  • Solution-oriented, with the ability to troubleshoot various issues.
  • Ability to work well individually and as a team member.
  • The ability to listen and learn from others.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Pacific College of Health and Science
  • Previous experience with EHR software
  • Foreign language, Spanish or Chinese preferred

Shift Information

  • Each shift is 4 hours in length. Supervisors are required to stay in the clinic for the duration of the shift.
  • All shifts are in-person at the Pacific College of Health and Science Clinic, 230 W. Monroe Chicago, IL 60606
  • Each shift has between 4-10 students at different levels of clinical training.

Salary Expectations: $40.00 – $43.00 per hour

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation.
