Dr. Chan-Vanklein is a licensed acupuncturist in New York and New Jersey and an acupuncture physician in Florida.  He is also a diplomate of Oriental medicine (NCCAOM) and a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY). Dr. Chan-Vanklein practices privately and conducts home visits for his non-ambulatory patients.  He also worked as an acupuncture fellow at NYU Langone Hospital for 3 years, treating post-stroke patients and patients undergoing rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Chan-Vanklein earned his doctorate of acupuncture and Chinese medicine (DACM) from Pacific College, where, during his training, he treated patients at the school’s clinic, Kam Wo Herbal Pharmacy’s community clinic, and cancer patients at Beth Israel Continuum Cancer Center.

Prior to studying medicine, Dr. Chan-Vanklein worked as a software engineer for 15 years and graduated from NYU Tandon School of Engineering with a master’s.  As an engineer, Dr. Chan-Vanklein worked for companies such as the New York Stock Exchange, Fujifilm, Chanel, Pitney Bowes, IBM, SUNY Down State Medical Center, and even with the NYC Dept of Buildings during the 9/11 recovery efforts. During his spare time, Dr. Chan-Vanklein studies metalsmithing and hand fabrication of jewelry designs.  He designs and carves wax models of jewelry pieces for precious metal casting through the lost wax process.
