Rosenberg, Z'ev, LAc, Dipl Ac, FNAAOM

Z’ev Rosenberg began his studies of Chinese medicine in the early 70’s, with studies in macrobiotics, shiatsu, and was introduced to the theory of Chinese medicine at that time by Michael Broffman, LAc. He received a degree from Santa Fe School of Natural Medicine in herbology and massage in 1976, Kushi Institute (macrobiotics and shiatsu) in 1979, Southwest Acupuncture College in 1983, and Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine (post-graduate master’s degree in Oriental Medicine) in 1989. Z’ev also worked as a macrobiotic counselor and shiatsu practitioner throughout the 1970’s, and has been in fulltime practice in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 1983. Z’ev has lectured widely both to the public and to students of both Chinese medicine and macrobiotics over the last twenty-five years. He is the former president of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado, where he spearheaded a successful drive to the registration of acupuncture practitioners in that state. For the last twelve years he has served as a professor and Chair of the Department of Herbal Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, and he also maintains a private practice in Chinese internal medicine, specializing in autoimmune disorders. Z’ev has written several articles for professional Chinese medical journals, including Oriental Medicine magazine, Protocol Journal of Botanical Medicine and Journal of Oriental Medicine in America, Journal of Chinese Medicine, and is presently an associate editor for the Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Journal. Z’ev also serves as consultant, writer and product developer for Kan Herbs in Scott’s Valley, California. Kan Herb company distributes a line of his herb formulas, Alembic Herbals. Present projects include writing and compiling texts on 1) herbal prescriptions and pattern diagnosis and 2) pulse diagnosis according to the Nan Jing/Difficult Classic. He is also designing new formulas for the Alembic Herbals line.
