Rachel began her nursing career in 2008 in Detroit, Michigan, at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan of the Detroit Medical Center. As a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, much of her bedside experience was with patients suffering from neurological conditions, primarily spinal cord injury. She left the hospital setting in 2017 to continue her education and pursue a career as a holistic nurse specializing in entheogens. Her main priority became teaching safe cultivation practices and cannabis care to health professionals, nursing students, patients, businesses, and legislators. Rachel is a Certified Nurse Educator, Advanced Holistic Nurse-Board Certified, researcher, and author, and served as Secretary and Executive Board Director for American Cannabis Nurses Association from 2020 to 2022. Her education includes a Master of Science in Nursing and Nursing Education from Purdue University Global, where she also joined the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing, Phi Rho Chapter. She is nearing the completion of her Ph.D. at Walden University and is eager to continue adding to her field research.

Rachel joined ACNA in February 2016 and was awarded at the First Inaugural ACNA Cannabis Care 2019 Conference as Volunteer of the Year. Working with other ACNA leaders, she has contributed to a cannabis-related nursing textbook, and her current research, as co-investigator, is a national nursing student study for cannabis care and the NCSBN’s recommendations in 2018. In addition, Rachel presented CE credits at various nursing conferences, including ACNA’s Cannabis Care 2019 and 2020 Conferences and American Holistic Nurses Association in 2021. Rachel has developed coursework and teaches courses in the Medical Cannabis Certificate and the Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Therapeutics programs at Pacific College.
