Pacific College of Health and Science is hiring for the Federal Work Study (FWS) position of Bookstore Assistant at our San Diego campus.
General Job Summary:
The FWS Bookstore Assistant supports the daily operation of the bookstore in alignment with academic standards. This roleย assistsย bookstore staff with inventory management, organization, sales transactions, andย maintainingย a clean, calm, and professional environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive and approachable appearance at the front desk.
- Answer phone calls swiftly and ensure information provided is correct.
- Process sales transactions involving cash or credit while ensuringย accurateย transactions andย speedy customer service.
- Keep the bookstore, copy room, and supply closet looking clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Record inventory and communicateย statusย with manager.
- Ability to learn andย operateย bookstore applications such asย Clover, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
- Receive andย deliver packages to correct staff members and office suites.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Maintain SAP and enrollment requirements.
- Maintain good behavioral standards and code of conduct.
- Report to work as scheduled, accurately record hours worked, and submit timesheets by established deadlines.
- Follow institutional policies and procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Notify supervisors of schedule changes.
- Prioritize academic responsibilities.
- Maintain records confidentiality
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at a desk and operating a computer using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
Rate of Pay: $17.75 per hour
