Pacific College Job Announcement – FWS Financial Aid Coordinator – New York Campus

Pacific College of Health and Science is hiring for the Federal Work Study (FWS) position of Financial Aid Coordinator at our New York campus.

General Job Summary:

The FWS Financial Aid Coordinator provides administrative, customer service, and clerical support to the Financial Aid Office. The student employee serves as one of the first points of contact for students and visitors, and assists the office with daily operations, document management, data entry, appointment scheduling, and general inquiries.

ย Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Front Desk & Customer Service

  • Greet students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and general inquiries.
  • Provide general information regarding Financial Aid Office services, procedures, deadlines, and available resources.
  • Direct students to the appropriate staff member when an issue requires professional assistance.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and maintaining office calendars.
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception area.

Financial Aid Administrative Support

  • Assist with scanning, filing, organizing, and indexing financial aid documents.
  • Assist with data entry and routine administrative tasks under staff supervision.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, packets, and informational materials.
  • Assist with document tracking and identifying outstanding items for staff review.
  • Help organize student files and maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
  • Assist with routine office projects, mailings, and student communications.
  • Support Financial Aid staff with special projects during peak processing periods.

Student Support

  • Provide students with general guidance on where to find information regarding FAFSA, scholarships, grants, loans, and financial aid requirements.
  • Refer students to professional Financial Aid staff for questions involving eligibility, awards, professional judgment, appeals, academic progress, or other matters requiring staff review.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • Maintain SAP and enrollment requirements.
  • Maintain good behavioral standards and code of conduct
  • Report to work as scheduled, accurately record hours worked, and submit timesheets by established deadlines.
  • Follow institutional policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Notify supervisors of schedule changes.
  • Prioritize academic responsibilities.
  • Maintain records confidentiality

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer using keyboard and reading information on a monitor.

Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour
