Pacific College of Health and Science is seeking (3) reliable and professional part-time Nursing Academic Operations Assistants at our New York campus to provide operational support for secure assessment administration, student engagement activities, and day-to-day academic operations.
This position serves as the primary in-person examination proctor for the School of Nursing while assisting with operational initiatives that promote student success, assessment integrity, and excellence in nursing education. Hours will vary based upon examination schedules, operational needs, and School of Nursing events.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Assessment Operations
- Proctors all assigned in-person computerized nursing examinations in accordance with School of Nursing policies and examination vendor requirements.
- Verifies student identity and ensures compliance with examination security procedures.
- Maintains a secure testing environment that protects examination integrity.
- Monitors students during examinations and documents testing irregularities or incidents in accordance with School of Nursing procedures.
- Assists with examination scheduling in collaboration with School of Nursing leadership.
- Prepares testing rooms prior to each examination, including equipment setup and readiness.
- Coordinates examination logistics, including student check-in, seating assignments, and testing materials.
- Assists with make-up examinations as assigned.
- Ensures testing rooms remain clean, organized, secure, and fully operational.
Testing Technology Support
- Prepares institution-issued testing devices prior to examinations.
- Perform routine operational checks of testing equipment.
- Coordinates with Information Technology regarding hardware or software issues affecting examinations.
- Assists with basic troubleshooting during examination sessions.
- Maintains inventory of testing equipment and supplies.
- Report technology concerns requiring repair or replacement.
Academic Operations
- Assists with operational activities supporting the School of Nursing.
- Provides administrative support for nursing program initiatives as assigned.
- Assists with preparation and organization of instructional and operational materials.
- Supports student check-in and registration for School of Nursing activities.
- Assists with maintaining operational records and documentation.
- Coordinates routine operational tasks supporting faculty, staff, and students.
- Provides excellent customer service to students, faculty, clinical partners, and visitors.
Student Engagement & School Events
- Assists with in-person events such as New Student Orientation, Core Nursing Orientation, Dedication to the Healing Professions Ceremony, and Commencement.
- Assists with in-person student meetings, workshops, and engagement activities.
- Supports implementation of School of Nursing initiatives designed to enhance student experience.
ย Additional Responsibilities
- Assists with special projects supporting School of Nursing operations.
- Provides operational support during accreditation visits, regulatory reviews, and other institutional activities as assigned.
- Assists with inventory management of operational and testing supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned that contribute to the success, growth, and operational excellence of the School of Nursing.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in higher education, healthcare, testing, customer service, or administrative operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty and staff.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ATI platform.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer using keyboard and reading information on a monitor. This position also requires prolonged periods of standing and walking during examination administration. Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to prepare examination spaces and support School of Nursing events.
Salary Expectations: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
