Our New York campus is expanding, and weโre growing our marketing department to support student engagement, community storytelling, and brand visibility.
Weโre seeking a Social Media & Communications Manager who is creative, organized, and excited to bring our student-centered stories to life.ย
This position is hybrid with up to 3 days per week required onsite at our New York campus.
Position Summary:
The Social Media & Communications Manager supports day-to-day content creation, internal and external communications, and the management of student content creators. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in social media and communications who is ready to step into more responsibility.
This person will maintain PCHSโs social media channels, help build the editorial calendar, write clear and engaging communications, and coordinate the work of student content creators who assist with campus and overall student experience storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
- Develop the annual social media strategy.
- Support the development and execution of the monthly social media editorial calendar to support the annual strategy.
- Draft, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Capture photos/videos on campus as needed and assist in shaping content ideas.
- Monitor comments/messages and engage with the community.
- Track performance and prepare monthly summary reports with insights.
Student Content Creator Program
- Assist with hiring and onboarding student content creators.
- Provide basic creative direction, weekly check-ins, and deadlines.
- Review and approve content for quality, accuracy, and brand alignment.
- Maintain an organized asset library.
Internal Communications
- Draft and update students, faculty, staff and alumni communications, including campus and general announcements.
- Coordinate with departments like Technology, Student Services, Academics, and Admissions to support their communication needs.
- Help maintain consistency of voice and clarity across all internal channels.
External Communications
- Support the development of outward-facing communications such as student stories, press release drafts, alumni highlights, and partner communications.
- Work with leadership and the Director of Marketing during major announcements or transitions.
Cross Department Collaboration
- Partner with Admissions, Academics, Campus and Clinic Directors to support organic content that drives awareness and inquiries.
- Work with the design team to request graphics or templates when needed.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelorโs degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
- 2โ4 years of experience in social media, content creation, or communications.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tones for different audiences.
- Hands-on experience creating content for multiple social media platforms.
- Basic photo/video capture and editing skills (phone-level editing is fine).
- Experience with Sprout or any social scheduling tools.
- Comfortable managing part-time student workers or interns.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred:
- Experience in higher education, student life, or health/wellness industries.
- Familiarity with Canva.
- Interest in holistic or integrative health.
- Familiarity with Reddit.
Salary Expectations:ย $78,000.00 – $85,000.00 annually
