Pacific College Job Announcement – Clinical Learning & Simulation Lab Manager – New York Campus

Pacific College of Health and Science is hiring for the position of full-time Clinical Learning and Simulation Lab Manager at our New York campus.  This is a campus-based position at our downtown Manhattan campus (financial district) with flexible work hours and the opportunity for occasional remote work as laboratory experience schedules allow. Frequent travel within the New York City metro area to the contracted simulation center will be required.

General Job Summary:

The Clinic Learning and Simulation Lab Manager is accountable for the effective and efficient operations of the clinical learning laboratory and for managing the partnership with the contracted simulation laboratory. The Manager must deeply understand nursing education, simulation technology, and clinical skills training methodologies. They will oversee the day-to-day management of the labs providing operational leadership and subject matter expertise to enhance our students’ learning experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Manage supply and equipment inventory and purchasing.
  • Facilitate faculty and student orientation to the clinical learning lab and simulation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in clinical lab and simulation learning.
  • Coordinate and schedule all laboratory and simulation learning experiences.
  • Manage an evaluation program for all learning and operational outcomes.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts related to clinical lab and simulation learning and operations.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
  • Direct faculty in developing simulation learning activities that align with learning outcomes and meet INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice.
  • Develop scenarios and simulation experiences to meet learning objectives and
  • Provide faculty and student support in terms of learning and professional development.
  • Provide education, training, and coaching for all colleagues who use the clinical learning laboratory and participate in simulation.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain and update simulation scenarios and related educational materials to reflect current best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Coordinate scheduling of simulation sessions, including simulation scenarios, debriefing sessions, and student rotations.
  • Facilitate debriefing sessions following simulation exercises, providing constructive feedback to students and faculty.
  • Create an effective and psychologically safe learning environment in the skills lab and simulation.
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing education, simulation technology, and best practices in skills training.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • MSN (Doctorate preferred with a scholarly focus on simulation)
  • NY state RN license (or eligible for). Note NY is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching at the BSN level with evidence of experience in simulation
  • Certification in Healthcare Simulation Education (CHSE) or willingness to obtain.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer using keyboard and reading information on a monitor. This is a New York campus based position.  Frequent travel within the New York City metro area to the contracted simulation center will be required.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 annually
