Pacific College Job Announcement – Director of Facilities Operations – New York Campus

Pacific College is seeking a dynamic individual for the position Director of Facilities Operations to support the overall facilities needs of our New York campus.

Position Summary:

The Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for campus facilities operations, communications, standards, and project coordination at the Pacific College New York campus.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage facilities staff of 4 to include team meetings, scheduling and planning team tasks, coaching and development, and time and attendance review and approval.
  • Oversee and assist with all maintenance and inspect Pacific College facilities for safety, cleanliness, and repairs.
  • Manage supply inventory and order supplies as needed. Ensures supplies ordered are received and reports inventory losses to the Campus Director.
  • Facilitate and manage ongoing, weekly, and long-term projects: including planning, assuring materials needed are ordered, making sure that project funds are available, and staffing is adequate.
  • Ensure building security by monitoring entry points and reporting any concerns immediately to the Building and/or Campus Director.
  • Assists procurement personnel in completing the purchasing/contracting process.
  • May provide input and assist the Project Manager and/or General Contractor in projects involving construction.
  • Manage incoming requests for event coordination and delegate tasks to the team.
  • Ongoing review of floors & systems to ensure all are kept in good working order (includes toilets, sinks, HVAC, water units, lights, etc.)
  • Assist procurement team with completing the purchasing and contracting process established.
  • Ensure facility contractors are following contract terms and providing required services to the College.
  • Facilities support for offsite outreach events, including Tunnels to Towers, offsite clinics, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Address and respond to the needs and requests of various departments, as required.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable building and safety codes, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating an emergency evacuation plan.
  • Respond to after-hours corrective and emergency work orders.
  • Assume other related responsibilities and special projects as required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises facilities team of four; Facilities Night Supervisor, Facilities Associate, and (2) Maintenance Associates.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, Electric, Fire & Life Safety).
  • Proven management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to present ideas articulately.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • More than five years of experience in building and property management
  • Professional certification, affiliation, and membership(s) in the field of facilities management, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) preferred.

Compensation: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 annually

Work Environment: This position requires active participation, stamina, and an ability to stand for long periods of time. The Director of Facilities Operations needs to be able to lift 50 pounds. This position will have a personal workspace to store any materials and organize their projects.
