Pacific College of Health and Science is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the AOS Massage Therapy department at our NYC campus.
Our current opening is for the following course: Public Safety and Counseling
Course description: This course is designed to teach students the manual and clinical skills necessary for the safety and well-being of the client. It presents cautions and contraindications to massage and explains how to prevent the spread of disease and infection. It will demonstrate the following sanitary practices: sanitizing floors, massage tables, bolsters, and restrooms, laundering linens, storing, and applying products, sanitizing implements, and personal hygiene. It will also demonstrate safety practices for massage therapy practice and allow students to explore what it means to be mindful, in one’s life, inside of a healing context. They will learn fundamental communication skills including listening, defining, and maintaining healthy boundaries, and authentic expression.
Job Summary: Adjunct Instructor for Public Safety and Counseling course. The faculty member should be qualified to teach classes at the undergraduate level. This class will be on our NYC campus. The class could be scheduled on Monday afternoons or Monday or Friday mornings and runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes from 9:00am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-2:15pm Eastern Time on campus at 110 William Street NY, NY. The course will run for 14 weeks.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the content hours in which you are teaching
- Degree relevant to teaching a basic course in Public Safety in regards to Health Care/Massage Therapy, Graduate degree preferred
- Live classroom-based teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level at an institution of higher education
Desired Qualifications:
- An extensive teaching resume coupled with a student-centered teaching philosophy
- Experience with Zoom, Moodle, Share-point, and Microsoft Outlook and Teams
- Familiarity with instructional technology and/or or learning management platforms
Salary Range:Â $45.00 – $55.00 per hour.
