One of the more alarming health concerns in recent years is the incidence of autism and spectrum disorders. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is often one of the methods of treatment parents will seek out, since there are symptomatic problems that other therapies do not address. TCM excels in moderating issues related to gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders, sensory processing disorders (SPD) or ADHD-type behaviors, which are all concurrent with the autism diagnosis.   In this talk, you will learn basic information about:

  • Nutritional strategies
  • Acupressure for autism
  • Qi gong for autism

Dr. Melanie Katin, DACM, LAc, has specialized in the treatment of children since 2004, in particular, children with ADHD and sensory processing disorders. She has written articles on atopic diseases in children, and treating children with SPD with Chinese medicine. She is on the faculty of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, formerly in New York, and now on the Chicago campus.Everyone is invited!
