Bernard Showers, LCSW, CAADC is a 2010 graduate of Shippensburg University’s MSW Program.  He has been practicing as a Social Worker since 2012 with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Baltimore, MD, working in a number of different roles within his specialty of substance use disorders.

In addition to his clinical roles, Bernard is a national consultant for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Evidence-Based Psychotherapy Initiatives in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders, Motivational Interviewing, and Motivational Enhancement Therapy.  He is a certified VA provider for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression, having received his training from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA.  As a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, Bernard has provided a number of local, regional, and national training.
