Kardash, Ted, PhD, MFT

Ted Kardash, PhD, has been on the San Diego faculty of PCHS since 1990. He currently directs the school’s Clinical Counseling program and also teaches classes in Tai Chi Chuan, a health movement form and martial art. Dr. Kardash received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University for Humanistic Studies. He is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and maintains a private practice in San Diego. After completing a 2-year program of studies at the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego in 1983, Ted was ordained as a “Tao Shr” (Servant of Tao), more commonly known as a Taoist priest, and regularly performs wedding ceremonies, memorial services, and initiation rites for newborns and their parents. For over 20 years he taught classes in Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong at the Taoist Sanctuary, as well as a popular 28-week course in Taoist philosophy studies. Ted also has a background in Vipassana meditation and Buddhist studies and in 2004 completed the Dedicated Practitioners Program offered through the Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Ted brings a blend of East and West to both his teaching as well as to his own clinical practice.
