Dr. Mitzie Meyers has practiced nursing in her area of passion – with children! Her clinical experience is in neonatal and pediatric intensive care at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. She has also worked in psychiatry, home health, and managed care.
Her second passion is teaching! She has been a nurse educator for 16 years in a baccalaureate nursing program at a state university in Louisiana. Dr. Meyers is certified in nursing education and in advanced holistic nursing and received a PhD from William Carey University.
She is a member of the ANA, AHNA, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She enjoys doing advocacy work and is serving on a Planetary Health Task Force. She also enjoys health policy and has served as a state board member for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, being a delegate to Washington DC. Her research interests include nurse wellbeing, spirituality, grief, end of life, and models of leadership. Dr. Meyers has presented locally and nationally on these topics, including wellness initiatives.
She lives, practices, and educates with a philosophy of holism, caring, and mindfulness.
