UCSD Free Clinics Project at Pacific Beach United Methodist Church

"Working at the PB shelter is a great experience in appreciating the holistic nature of our medicine. Homelessness is a life lacking in many forms of nourishment: food, shelter, companionship, and caring. Harvest for the Hungry was founded to provide the latter two under the guise of providing food and medical care. Nourishment of the spirit or soul is something Chinese medicine can treat extremely well and is evidenced by the amazing return rate of patients at the PB clinic. Practicing Chinese medicine here requires us to maintain a constant awareness of the effect of lifestyle on a person's body, mind, and spirit and is a great opportunity to learn to look deeper into our patient's health."
