Laboure Medical Center/Lakeview Clinic

An Overview: In this busy community clinic, students have the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients. Because the Lakeview Health Center is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital, our students are able to interact with Western physicians for both patient evaluations and diagnoses.

The patients at the Lakeview Health Center tend to be over 40 years old, and the most common condition treated is pain for such conditions as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and multiple sclerosis. Using acupuncture, moxabustion and cupping techniques, Pacific College interns learn how to apply Eastern medicine in a Western health setting.

Type of Patients: General mix of patients that would include a broad range of patients similar to a primary college clinic for e.g., fertility OB-GYN, Indigent care

Number of Students: up to 4 which includes both assistants and observers.

Types of Treatments rendered: all types of acupuncture which is primarily the main form of treatment. Depending on the patient type and their presenting complains they could also be treated with moxa, cupping e-stimulation, tui na and massage.

Number of treatment rooms provided: depending on availability, generally 2.
