Initiative for Women with Disabilities - Hospital for Joint Diseases

The Initiative for Women with Disabilities is a multi-disciplinary, women's center, providing medical and gynecological services. Educational advocacy and social service programs are also offered. Interns will have the opportunity to introduce acupuncture to women with disabilities and chronic conditions.

This is a challenging externship and interns (females only) should expect to work in a fast-paced environment, treating 3-5 patients per shift. Assistance with patients' mobility (i.e. lifting patients on and off beds) may be necessary. Prospective interns should possess patience, compassion and professionalism for a unique learning experience.
