Grand Meridian Clinic

Located in the rear of the Kamwo Herb and Tea Company, the Grand Meridian Clinic offers acupuncture treatments and herbal consultations where four interns treat approximately 10 patients per shift. The current Supervisor has also been active in Herb identification by presenting samples derived from Kamwo's extensive pharmacy, and has been teaching aspects of Eastern Nutrition through the preparation soups and teas for tasting.

Interns see patients from all over the world who are visiting Chinatown, some of whom have never been treated by acupuncture. A referral system is developing through several sources: Metropolitan Hospital, a western MD office and a nonprofit neighborhood organization. Students also have the opportunity to participate in herb processing (i.e., honey-fried herbs) and work in the extensive pharmacy filling herbal prescriptions.
