Asian Body Therapy Programs - New York
Bachelor of Professional Studies (Asian Holistic Health & Massage)
The purpose of the Bachelor completion program is to prepare students for employment in fields of Asian holistic health and massage.
The Bachelor of Professional Studies comprises 13.5 units of preparatory course work plus 60units of upper division coursework. Students must complete, or have previously completed, the following preparatory courses:
- Anatomy 1
- Foundations of Chinese Medicine
- Fundamentals of Chinese Medicine 1
- Tui Na Hand Techniques
- Tui Na Structural Techniques
- CPR/First Aid
This program integrates Asian and Western bodywork therapy, emphasizing Oriental medicine theory, addressing the body, mind, and spirit. The massage degree allows students to sit for licensure exams to become a licensed massage therapist.
Students will gain an understanding of the Western and Eastern approaches and massage techniques, with focus on both the theories and the practice. The massage therapy program will include classes in anatomy and physiology, general pathology, myology/kinesiology, East/West massage, and clinic/practicum, as well as hygiene and safety. This continues Pacific College’s tradition of training highly qualified practitioners, meeting and exceeding national standards.
