Maryana Vestic has always believed that within every life there is a story. Through writing, literature and the arts, creative expression not only expanded Maryana’s imagination, but also served as a means of personal healing. Maryana studied filmmaking at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Irish Theatre Studies at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

After years of working in the stressful business side of filmmaking and entertainment, Maryana found that the regular practice of receiving massage and bodywork helped her reflect upon the ever present connection between body and mind. She was soon introduced to the on staff massage therapist at her office who became a lifelong friend. It was incredible to see the office employees maintain and improve themselves over time simply because of regular bodywork and the holistic attention paid to them. When Maryana suddenly lost her father, she continued to find immense compassion, healing and gratitude by opening herself up further to the healing arts, particularly massage. The science and art of therapeutic touch confirmed Maryana’s belief that each life is grows as a tree does, alive in branch and rooted to the earth and our deeper emotional, mental and spiritual undertow.

On this newly laid out path, Maryana also took interest in Eastern modalities and medicine, cherishing the idea of the healing practitioner not as a mechanic but as a gardener, tending to the complete human being. Maryana then began study at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NY) from which she received a degree in Massage Therapies in 2012. Maryana plans on working in corporate massage so she can assist others working in the business world to restore, reflect and recall their own personal story. She also intends on having a private practice called Root and Branch Bodywork, which will center around integrative east/west modalities and the tenets of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a special focus on Internal disharmonies, mental and emotional health. Via communion with each individual client through touch and healing, Maryana knows that each person has a story to tell and she intends on being there to listen.
