Julia is certified and licensed by the California Acupuncture Board, designated a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is a nationally certified massage therapist by the National Certification of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB). She completed the Oriental Medicine and Asian Body Therapist program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, with over 3,500 hours of education and clinical experience in Western and Eastern medicine. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a double concentration in psychology and Spanish.
Her focus includes pain/musculoskeletal/rehabilitation conditions, internal medicine, auricular acupuncture for smoking cessation/addictions, and facial rejuvenation. She uses acupuncture, Chinese herbs, supplements, massage, PNF stretching, soft tissue release, and nutrition/exercise counseling to provide a complementary treatment plan. Julia’s clinical experience include externships at RIMAC sports facility in UCSD, where she treated various musculoskeletal conditions for college athletes and trainers, and San Diego Senior’s (Geriatric) Clinic. She assisted Matt Callison, L.Ac. and Vasa Mik, L.Ac. at AcuSport Health Center for 2 years, whose specialty is sports medicine acupuncture. Julia ran her first 1-mile race when she was 3 years old, and swam competitively on a USS team for 13 years. Being an athlete her whole life, she has a fundamental connection to the physical body, and a great appreciation for overall health. She values the importance of balance in life: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Her mission is to promote wellness through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and massage therapy.
