Professional Experiences: I have been a practicing massage therapist for 14 years.
After my initial phase of massage therapy in Hoboken for 3 years, I moved to New York to receive additional professional training in massage therapy. I was employed by the Massage America Co and the Great American Back Rub as a manager for their 57th St. store for 3 years. Next, I was hired by Bliss Spa, and Paul Labrecque Salon, both high end spas. I worked in both Salons for 7-8 years. (Bliss from 1999-2007 and in Labrecque Salon from 2000-Current)
In 1998, I started my own private practice in massage therapy and for the past 9 years, I have had a very busy private massage therapy practice in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island.
Furthermore, I have 3 years clinical experience from the Pacific College Clinic in acupuncture and Chinese herbology and one year of practical clinical experience working with Professor Moshe Heller of Pacific College at his private clinic. Also, I had 6 months of clinical experience with Professor Elisabeth Carpenter in her private clinic.
In 2007, I started my acupuncture and herbal medicine practice at the Life Prescription Chinese medicine clinic. I did extensive research in cancer treatments in order to be able to help my mother with an aggressive breast cancer. I had excellent results with her cancer treatment rehabilitation using Chinese medicine. She is cancer free now for 4 years. I also started practicing acupuncture in Manhattan’s largest sports club, Reebok Sports Club and at the Paul Labrecque Salon where I used to be a massage therapist.
In September 2008, I started to participate in the rehabilitation of people who suffered from car accidents, or had other musculoskeletal issues at the Healthy Body Chiropractic Office in Staten Island as a self employed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist.
Societies and Memberships: I am a member of the Massage Association and a Rutgers alumni member.
Publications: I write poetry. Even though my native language is Hungarian and I didn't speak any English when I came to the US, my English poems appeared in the Rutgers Alternative Newspaper in 1997. The annual Poetry Anthology published several of my poems in 2006.
History: In 1990, I immigrated to the US when I was 19 years old. I didn't speak English and with hard work, I learned English in 2 years. I started my university education in a Catholic college in Madison, NJ. After one semester, I transferred to Rutgers State University of NJ. My major was Psychology. I was focusing on biopsychology and on the different treatment strategies for mental illnesses. During college, I learned massage therapy to support myself through college. I gained my U.S. citizenship in 2000.
I believe acupuncture and Chinese herbology are very effective holistic medical approaches to healing people. Therefore, I decided to obtain a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, a 4 year program, at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City.
