Pacific College Celebrates North American Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Day 2005

In an effort to increase public awareness of the progress, promise, and benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, celebrates North American Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day in San Diego , New York , and Chicago , with each campus supporting this day in a unique way.

Pacific College 's San Diego Campus is offering complimentary acupuncture treatments

for first time patients as well $10 off treatment for current patients on Monday, October 24, 2005.

Pacific's New York Campus will be hosting a free Open House for the public on Monday, October 24, 2005 from 2 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Events will include informational lectures, Qi Gong workshops, and complimentary acupuncture for balance and stress reduction.

On the Chicago campus there will be a f ree Open House for the public on Saturday, October 29, 2005 from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Events will include workshops on Tui Na massage and Tai Chi, lectures on Asian Body Therapy and Oriental medicine, as well as campus tours. Refreshments and information on admission and financial aid will also be available.

Nearly 1 out of every 10 adults in the U.S. has tried acupuncture according to a survey by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and one in five have utilized another form of Oriental medicine, such as herbs or bodywork therapies.

Acupuncture and Oriental medicine is beneficial for problems such as: pain, arthritis, asthma, upper respiratory conditions, digestive and urinary disorders, insomnia, depression, and addictions. The World Health Organization (WHO) has cited that acupuncture can treat over forty-three conditions.
