Pacific College Celebrates Grand Re-Opening Of New York Campus

Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening event Friday, November 12, 2004 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm, in celebration of the campus's recent transformation into a state-of-the-art facility. The festivities will include complimentary community style acupuncture and qi gong/energy exercise workshops, as well as a cocktail reception.

This recent expansion has allowed Pacific College to accommodate its growing student body, by considerably increasing the space allocated for the college, providing the new modern facility with 11 classrooms, a 1600 square foot library, and a revamped community clinic.

According to Jack Miller, Licensed Acupuncturist and President of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, "We are particularly excited to see our patients' reaction to the new and expanded clinical facilities. As perhaps the largest acupuncture clinic on the East Coast, with 25 treatment rooms and active internships at local hospitals, the college is setting a positive example for its students, showing the potential Oriental Medicine can have to beneficially impact the community."

The College clinic, known as Pacific College Acupuncture Center , underwent the biggest transformation, with an expanded herbal dispensary, treatment rooms, reception and waiting areas. The Acupuncture Center 's low cost clinic is now equipped to see more than 600 patients a week, offering acupuncture, acupressure, herbs, and qi gong.

The expanded library will support and enrich the college's current Masters programs in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. The library is fully computerized with online internet access, and more than 1000 books and journals. The collection includes traditional Chinese medicine, herbology, biomedicine, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, research design and bio-statistics.

"We are proud to welcome the New York community to visit our newly remodeled and expanded Pacific College campus in the Flatiron District," said Miller. "We love this area of New York and look forward to being a good neighbor here for the next ten years and beyond."
