Course Description

Pain management is one of the most commonly seen conditions in the modern acupuncture clinic. This course will be an introduction to the Tung lineage approach to distal point needling with a focus on pain management. We will cover core theory of Tung's system, important needle methods and point combination techniques, and an overview of some of the most important points for pain management. We will conclude with an introduction to Tung's bloodletting therapy and how it is integrated into clinical practice.

Course Learning Objectives

  • Participants will understand the basic theory of Tung's acupuncture and how to choose distal points for effective therapy
  • Participants will be able to use basic needle methods and point combination techniques, including bloodletting technique
  • Participants will understand the locations and indications of commonly used points for pain management and their selection method in the clinic
