Pacific College Alumni Profile - Peggy Raikes:

Peggy A. Raikes, a 1996 magna cum laude graduate from Pacific College, is a practicing Acupuncturist with the Encinitas Integrated Wellness Center. The clinic is a complimentary health care group consisting of an allopathic medical doctor, chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapist, and EMF therapist. Peggy enjoys her autonomy as an Acupuncturist and the opportunity to collaborate with other medical professionals at the Center.

A practitioner at the Encinitas Integrated Wellness Center since 1999, Peggy incorporates modalities such as the Niemtzow Technique©, Dr. Devi Nambudripad's N.A.E.T. and Dr. Ellen Cutler's BioSET into her practice.

The Niemtzow Technique© was developed by Richard Niemtzow, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., an acupuncturist at the San Diego Naval Medical Center. This technique is an inventive acupuncture procedure that relieves problems associated with xerostomia or dry mouth, a malfunctioning of the salivary glands resulting from radiation therapy to the head and neck of cancer patients.

Peggy's work with natural allergy elimination techniques treats both physical allergies as well as those that are triggered by emotional imbalance. Her techniques incorporate healing methods from oriental and allopathic medicine, chiropractic, kinesiology and enzyme therapy.

Peggy has also received training in Ayurveda and Marma therapy from Master Balachandran, a Kalarippayatt expert from Kerala, India. Kalarippayatt, a unique system of medicine with its roots in Ayurveda, involves stimulation of nodal points (marmas) by oil massage as well as the use of very refined herbal combinations.

Peggy's patients report good results. Recently, Peggy received a thank you note from a 79 year old former nurse who suffered from allergy problems. After only 10 treatments, the patient wrote that she was 70% better. Before treatment, she indicated her health was" miserable".

Congratulations, Peggy, on your success!
