Pacific College Alumni Profile - Martin Murphy
As a base, he uses Classical Five-Element Acupuncture (CF-EA) to address the root cause of symptoms. Martin received certification in this style of acupuncture from the Institute of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture in Santa Monica. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, his prior background was in Mental Health & Substance Abuse Counseling. Prior to opening The Center for Classical Five-Element Acupuncture in Ramsey, New Jersey; Martin was the owner of The Athlete's Point, LLC in Portland, Oregon. The Athlete's Point, LLC was very successful under Martin's ownership for two years, and is now under new ownership. Martin received a Master of Science degree in traditional Oriental medicine from the San Diego campus of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, as well as a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Martin has augmented his training by becoming fully certified in Active Release Techniques (ART) to aid his treatment of athletes and people with a wide variety of injuries. Martin has found that ART often helps with any restriction that may remain after acupuncture in order to maximize results in less time. It thrills Martin to help people recapture the laughter and joy in their lives.
