Pacific College Alumni Profile - Jocelyn Joy:

Jocelyn Joy, a 2001 graduate of Pacific College, is now a busypractitioner with Inner Spring Center for Health in San Diego, California. Inner Spring, founded by Esther Platner, L.Ac., provides several healing modalities: Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine including Classical Five Element Acupuncture, Sports Medicine, Craniosacral Therapy, and NAET Allergy Elimination. Jocelyn’s specialty, Orthopedic Disorders with an emphasis on manual therapies such as Tui Na, Muscle Energy and Functional Indirect Techniques, provides a welcome adjunct to this health center.

Jocelyn attributes her passion for treating Orthopedic Disorders to her association with Matt Callison, L.Ac. While a student she had the opportunity to intern under Matt and attend his "Energetics of Structural Balance" seminar series. Under Matt’s guidance and encouragement, Jocelyn has become highly skilled in the assessment and treatment of orthopedic disorders utilizing a unique blend of modern Western Ortho-Nuero with Traditional Oriental Medicine theories, techniques and modalities. Using these skills, Jocelyn treats a variety of patients in her practice with both acute and chronic pain including sports injuries, overuse and repetitive strain problems.

Because of her in-depth training, Jocelyn is able to work closely with Physical Therapists, Holistic Health Practitioners, Massage Therapists, Medical Doctors, Chiropractors and other health care providers to provide comprehensive care to her patients. She is able to communicate effectively with her patients as well as interface with other professionals, an ability which has served both her and her patient‚s well.

Since graduating from Pacific College Jocelyn has also been busy developing Joy Seminars, a company which sponsors continuing education seminars for acupuncture students and practitioners. In addition, Jocelyn also coordinates the popular Matt Callison’s "Energetics of Structural Balance" seminar series in San Diego.

Of all the teachers at Pacific College, Colleen Timmons remains Jocelyn’s favorite. "She had a way of making this foreign medical system understandable and enjoyable. I still refer to my OM 2 notes to this day." Jocelyn feels that PCOM did an excellent job of preparing her as an entry level practitioner and looks forward to developing her craft in the years to come.

Congratulations, Jocelyn, on your success!
