Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapies, AAS - Chicago

The purpose of the Associate program is to prepare students for employment nationally in the profession of body therapy and massage, and for certification by National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Pacific College's Associates degree curriculum gives students an excellent an excellent introduction to Oriental medical theory and comprehensive training in practical medical skills.

Graduates of the Associates of Applied Science in Massage Therapies will demonstrate competence in basic business skills related to the practice of massage, in addition to the knowledge need to pass the certification exams of the NCCAOM and NCBTMB.

Students enrolled in the Associates program must complete a total of 64.5 units.

  • Stress Management
  • Technical Mathematics
  • Traditions of Asian Holistic Health and Massage
  • Circulatory Massage
  • Introduction to Body Therapy Clinic
  • Oriental Medicine Theory and Points for Body Therapists

Graduates of the Associate degrees will:

  • Demonstrate a wide and well-practiced variety of body therapy skills.
  • Understand the integration of body, mind, and spirit.
  • Know and demonstrate essential, hygienic considerations in the performance of massage.
  • Know and respect conditions contraindicating massage.
  • Demonstrate competence in basic business skills related to the practice of massage.
