Dr. Kouo is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) San Diego and is also a graduate from PCOM's Doctoral program having successfully defended his capstone on Chinese Medicine and Non-alcoholic fatty Liver disease (NAFLD). He currently serves as the Chair of the Herbal Department and is a professor in both the Masters and Doctoral programs. He also serves on the board for Alternative Healing Network and is their Director of Research. Dr. Kouo was part of the original group of six acupuncturists chosen to work at the University of California San Diego in their Center of Integrative Medicine as a credentialed health care provider and is positioned in the family medicine department in Hillcrest.
