Information:
Lara is a nationally certified, licensed HHP, working full time in the bodywork field since 2001. Originally from the Bay Area, she came to San Diego to attend UCSD, graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a bachelor's in English/American literature and a French literature minor. Her experience and interest in education began early on, starting with tutoring geometry and French in high school. After UCSD, she tutored at and maintained the writing lab with the Cuyumaca College English Department, taught reading at a school for people with auditory learning disabilities, and trained and tutored with the YMCA's Open Book literacy program. She pursued her long time interest in health and the human body/spirit by obtaining her HHP with Mueller College, working in various chiropractic offices and spas, in corporate massage, and in private practice. Lara first started teaching bodywork in 2005 with Mueller College. In 2011, she wrote and taught a neuromuscular therapy class for the bodywork program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, mirroring her style of work: resolving soft tissue pain and dysfunction, working through old and new injuries, adjusting postural imbalances and improper biomechanics, improving life style habits, and focusing on helping people live well in their bodies. Currently, she works in private practice and at a chiropractic wellness center, and teaches at Mueller College, PCOM and Diamond Light School of Massage in the Bay Area.
