Elizabeth Talcott began her career in the health care field as a massage
therapist trained at International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in
San Diego after completing a degree in Physics from UC San Diego. Concurrent
with her educational process at PCOM she maintained a massage practice.
Elizabeth has been a member of PCOM's faculty since 2001. Presently she is
finishing up her doctorate preparing to defend an argument in favor of
developing an accredited track for the teaching of Japanese style acupuncture.
Together with KC Conover, she has expanded the Japanese curriculum to three
classes; two focusing on the styles taught by Ikeda Masakazu Sensei, Shudo
Denmei Sensei and Shoji Kobayashi Sensei to name a few, and one class focusing
on Kampo herbal medicine. She is presently teaching the Introduction to
Japanese I class and shares teaching responsibilities with KC Conover in
teaching of Kampo. Clinically she supervises interns both at the PCOM clinic
and Rady Children¹s hospital. Elizabeth has traveled to Japan numerous times
to study and observe in the clinic of Ikeda Sensei and Shudo Sensei and
continues her education by attending private instruction with Ikeda Sensei as well as group workshops. She maintains a private practice in La Mesa, CA
practicing the Japanese style.
