Dr. Gold is a psychologist and California Licensed Acupuncturist. He graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1978, and from the California Acupuncture College in 1983. He earned a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Humanistic Studies. Dr. Gold frequently travels to Asia for advanced studies in Chinese medicine and traditional Oriental body therapies. In 1979, he studied at Xinhua Hospital in Shanghai. In 1986, he apprenticed with Seitai Shiatsu Master Kyoshi Kato. In 1988 and again in 1989 and 1992, Dr. Gold studied “Nuad Bo’Rarn”, the traditional medical massage of Thailand at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Dr. Gold is past president and current Board member of the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) and cofounder of Pacific College. He is on the National Advisory Board of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) representing expertise in Thailand Massage. He maintains a busy private practice in San Diego, in addition to his teaching duties at the college.
