Debra is originally from Indiana and Ohio. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to North Carolina where she finished High School and went to East Carolina University and received a BFA in Textile Design in 1988. After graduating, Debra traveled in Asia where she first encountered Eastern philosophies and healing modalities. She received bodywork and acupuncture while in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Bali. After a year in Asia, she returned to the US to begin working on her career in the apparel industry. During this 18 year period working as a designer, Debra also developed an interest in Chinese Medicine and Qigong.
In 1994 she began studying with a Taoist Qigong Master and Dr. of Chinese Medicine, Dr. Nan Lu. She learned Qigong Meridian Therapy, a special hands on technique used to stimulate Qi along the meridians and offered this to family and friends, as well as Medical Qigong, a deep practice and training used for healing purposes. She also teaches Dragon’s Way, Qigong for wellness & weight-loss and Wuming Qigong for Breast Health. In 2005 she began studying Reflexology at the Vital Energy Source with Wendy Coad, with over 500 hours of training with foot, hand, ear and face. She continues to deepen her Reflexology techniques through continued study and she offers classes to learn Reflexology for certification. In 2007, she graduated from the Academy of Massage Therapy with 1149 hours of massage training and received her License in NY Massage in the same year. Debra lives in South Orange, NJ.
