Mingxia Li graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) with a Bachelors Degree in Medicine in 1985, and further her studies with advanced trainings in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, receiving a graduate certificate from BUCM in 1992. She served as a MD and faculty member in BUCM Acupuncture Department from 1985 till 1996 teaching and practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and supervising in the clinic. Mingxia Li has published several books on Chinese Medicine and numerous articles in Chinese Medicine Journals.

Mingxia Li is a Board certified and licensed acupuncturist in the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as Board certified Herbologist of Chinese Medicine. She maintains a private practice in NY City and New Jersey. Mingxia Li joined the faculty at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in 2003 teaching Oriental medicine (Diagnosis &Treatment of disease, Chinese Herbs for Internal Medicine) and supervising in the clinic. She is currently the Chair of the Oriental Medicine Department at PCOM.
