Hui Li graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1984. Later, she completed her Ph.D. from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She completed 5 years resident doctor training in Guan Anmen Hospital in Beijing, affiliated hospital of China Academy of TCM, and Acupuncture Institute of China Academy of TCM, the leading TCM institution in China. From 1990 to 1996, she practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbology with an attending doctor position at the same institution in Beijing. She was a visiting doctor in Turkey sent by the China National Administration of TCM between 1993 and 1994.
She has been teaching at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine since 1997 and served as Departmental Chair of Acupuncture from 2002 to 2008. She teaches Advanced Needle Technique, Auricular Acupuncture and A. I. G. R. At the same time, she has been practicing acupuncture in NY, specializing in gynecological and immunological disorders. She published 17 research articles in China and the U.S.A. between 1990 and 2011.
