San Diego - Director of Career Services (Download Description)

The Director of Career Services provides career guidance to current students and graduates of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.  Performs responsible work in assisting students to identify career goals and locate job opportunities. Responsibilities include employer relations, career advising/counseling, increasing the visibility and support of the college and its programs, and enhancing existing services. The Director also oversees the admissions and advising process for alumni upgrading to the entry-level Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program.  

This position is responsible for collecting necessary graduation and employment data for our all programs. The Director will be responsible for planning and coordinating the annual graduation ceremony and several other career service events. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three years of experience in Career Services, student advisement, recruiting, employment assistance or related field.
  • Two years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
  • Outreach, career services, or networking experience.
  • Strong customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain records of graduates, employers and placements.
  • Highly motivated and productive.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and database programs.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with field of acupuncture and massage is a plus.
