Pacific College of Oriental Medicine Library - San Diego Campus
Pacific's newly remodeled library provides over 2,400 square feet conducive to study and research, and is home to a portion of Dr. Ted Kaptchuk's private collection. A valuable resource for students and alumni, the college's Library is open to health professionals and interested lay people by special arrangement.
Holdings
There are many resources available in Pacific's Library, including journals of Eastern & Western medicine, books, audiotapes and videotapes. The print collections currently contain over 7,600 books and journals (60 titles)and a non-print collection containing over 1,250 items. Educational software CD ROMs are available. The Library also has a Special Collection of Chinese language monographs, a variety of articles, and research papers written by Pacific students. Required and recommended texts for each semester are available in the Library at the Reference/Circulation Desk.
Equipment & Resources
There are currently 5 IBM, 2 Macintosh computers, 2 VCR/TVs, two audio tape players, printer and Xerox machine available for use in the library. Computer use is on a first-come first-served basis. There are two computer work-study assistants available at regular hours in the Library to help students with questions. Computer training is available to students, staff and faculty by appointment. E-mail Services
Pacific College provides its students with free e-mail accounts and service. To obtain your password, please complete an application in the College's Administration Office.
Borrowing Privileges
A PCOM student ID is required to check out Library materials. Books (a maximum of 3 at a time) may be checked out for two weeks. Materials may be renewed once, either by stopping by or calling. Up to 2 audio and video tapes may be checked out at a time for one week. Materials may be returned to the Library or the book return located in the Student Lounge.

Fines for Overdue Materials:
Books: 0.25 per day
Audio & videotapes: 0.50 per day
*Weekends are included in the calculation of fines. Replacement Fees are $15.00 plus the cost of replacing the item. Unpaid fines may result in denial of registration, transcripts or other administrative requests.
Online Library Catalog
Through the San Diego campus's Online Catalog, users are able to look up books, journals, videos, reference papers and more. In addition, circulation borrowing records including borrowers, checkout and returns are also a part of this system.

Lists free health information websites, and includes Journals, Ebooks, etc.
